One Knoxville SC is excited to announce the signing of goalkeeper Johan Garibay, pending league and federation approval.
The soon-to-be 24-year-old goalkeeper joins One Knox after an impressive pre-season in East Tennessee. Garibay has been featured consistently throughout One Knox’s pre-season fixtures and has earned the right to turn from “trialist” to wearing number 25 on the first team.
The Stockton, California native graduated from Gonzaga University in 2023 after an impressive collegiate career playing in over 5,300 minutes for the Bulldogs across four seasons. Last season, the American was a part of the practice setup at Sacramento Republic after developing through the club’s youth system.
Coach Mark McKeever is delighted with the addition of Garibay and said “Johan has fantastic character and willingness to train at the highest level every day. I am very confident that Johan will grow in confidence and quality in this environment and will play a vital part of this team both on and off the field.”
After asking Garibay about his signing for One Knox, he said “It’s every soccer player’s dream at one point of their life to be a professional player, and I’m so proud and happy to have achieved that with One Knoxville SC. Thank you to Coach Mark and the staff for giving me this opportunity, and let’s get to work!”
One Knoxville SC host Lexington SC in their first home game of the season at Regal Stadium on Saturday, March 23rd.
Please welcome Johan Garibay to the 865!
