Parents,
Since One Knox Youth Club was formed, we’ve largely followed the traditional youth soccer model used by many small and mid-sized clubs: families pay Club Fees for coaching, fields, insurance and operations, while teams separately manage Team Fees for league play, tournaments and other expenses.
Over the past year, we’ve heard consistent feedback from families that more predictable budgeting would make the club experience easier to manage. After reviewing how many of the country’s top clubs operate, we’ve decided to begin rolling the majority of Team Fees into Club Fees starting with the 2026/27 season.
This change allows:
- More predictable monthly payments across the full year
- Fewer surprise Team Fee requests during the season
- Greater visibility into total costs upfront
- Less administrative burden on team managers and parents
We believe this is a positive step for the club and for families as we continue building One Knox for the long term.
Over the past two months, we reviewed costs across every age group and team and ultimately chose a balanced approach that rolls in most Team Fees for the upcoming year.
For 2026/27, Club Fees will now include:
- League registration fees
- Tournament and league entry fees
- Tech and platform fees
- Field rental costs for games and friendlies
- Assignor fees
- Trainer and Veo subscription fees for older teams
The following expenses will still remain separate:
- Coach travel and per diem
- Referee fees
- Uniforms
At the same time, we have to share that there will be a 5% increase in Club Fees only across all age groups. One Knox Youth Club continues to operate as a 501(c)(3) organization with the goal of breaking even while investing in coaching, player development and club infrastructure – all while seeking to never turn a player away that struggles to afford the cost of club soccer. This year, we are also introducing healthcare and 401(k) benefits for our full-time staff to ensure that we can attract and the retain the best team possible on behalf of all our families.
I know this is a lot to take in, but the upshot of all of the message above is that all families will see overall costs remain relatively similar year over year, but you’ll now have a more predictable cost that can be spread more evenly across the course of the season.
