TAMPA, Fla. – A busy few days at Covenant Health Park saw One Knoxville SC play to a pair of hotly-contested draws against Portland Hearts of Pine and AC Boise. Teddy Baker was on the pitch for every minute of both matches, providing a cool-head and attacking drive in One Knox’s midfield.
On Tuesday, USL League One announced that Baker was named to the Week 25 Team of the Week, marking the team-best fifth time that he has received the honor in 2026.
One of three players, along with defender Finn McRobb and goalkeeper Johan Garibay, to play 180 minutes last week, Baker’s most notable influence came on Wednesday when his whipped-in corner from the left found teammate Babacar Diene at the back post for an 86th minute equalizer against Portland.
In that match alone, Baker led the way with 11 total chances created while completing 96 of 121 passes, 32 of which occurred in the final third of the field. The 24-year-old from London didn’t switch off three days later against Boise, leading One Knox with six won duels and a pair of successful dribbles.
It’s the second consecutive week that Baker has earned Team of the Week selection, having also earned the honors in Week 24, Week 17/18, Week 16 and Week 1.
Other One Knoxville 2026 Team of the Week selections include Garibay and Jordan Skelton in Week 24, along with Eli Conway and Will Perkins in Week 23. Defender Scott McLeod was named for Week 19/20, while McRobb was named for both Week 17/18 and 16. Kyle Linhares was also selected for Week 16.
Diene and Denis Krioutchenkov were selected for Week 8/9 with Ian Fuller also named Coach of the Week. Diene, while Linhares and John Murphy Jr. earned Week 7 honors, Garibay was named in both Week 6 and Week 5, along with Braudilio Rodrigues. Defender Jaheim Brown was named in Week 4, as well as the opening week of the 2026 season with Baker, Murphy Jr., Krioutchenkov and Stavros Zarokostas.
After a grueling last week, One Knoxville is now faced with a two match road stretch at Forward Madison on September 2 and at AV Alta FC on September 5. The club returns to Covenant Health Park on September 11 to face FC Naples (tickets).
