The 26-year-old forward joins One Knoxville SC after success in Luxembourg with Union Titus Petange. A proven goalscorer, Tekiela recorded 20 goals in 36 games during his time in Petange.
Before his time in Luxembourg, Tekiela was a product of the German football system, playing for teams like Westfalia Rhynern and Borussia Dortmund II before joining Esbjerg fB of the Danish third division.
Tekiela has scored goals in the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds, not to mention his appearances against world-renowned teams like Rangers FC.
Coach Mark McKeever had the ambition of adding more goals to the team ahead of 2024 and he hopes to have done just that. McKeever said, “Kempes is a goalscorer. He has the ability to score all types of goals and also has the potential to continue his scoring ways here in Knoxville.” He continued, “Kempes has great size, wonderful awareness of the game and a sweet left peg that will leave our fans as excited as I am.”
Kempes Tekiela says, “In all honesty, it has always been a dream of mine to live in the United States and now I can fulfill this dream with my passion for soccer.” Tekiela continued by saying, “I believe in the project One Knoxville has presented to me and I am coming to support by scoring goals.”
