One Knoxville SC is delighted to announce the signing of Derek Waldeck.
Waldeck joins One Knoxville SC after being a standout in the USL League One with Greenville Triumph.
The 24 year old Stanford graduate was drafted by Dallas in the 2020 draft.
Racking up over 4,500 minutes in the USL League One, Waldeck brings with him a vast amount of talent, experience and leadership to the wide areas of Regal.
We asked Coach McKeever about Derek Waldeck. He said, “Derek was a player that I am very excited about! He is very versatile and can play inside or outside with a great desire to drive forward and provide deliveries into dangerous areas. Derek was one of the first players on my list while recruiting and although it took us a while to get his signature, we were glad to finally have his talents on our side.”
Speaking on the prospect of playing for One Knoxville, Derek says, “I’ve heard nothing but great things about the club, the fans and the city of Knoxville. Not too many players can say they’ve been a part of a club’s inaugural year in the professional game so I am excited to be a part of Knoxville history.”
